Step 14 – Installing vCenter Server
- Attach vCenter Installation ISO to vCenter VM.
- Start vCenter Server Installation by selecting Simple Install. If the installer is not automatically starting up, then open autorun.
- Click Next to process to the installation.
- Accept the License Agreement and click Next
- Installer checks your server settings, make sure there is no error, and then click Next.
- Enter he default administrator account for SSO local domain. This will be the password for administrator@vsphere.local. Do remember this password, this will be the administrator to manage SSO authentication settings.
- Leave the site name to the default then click Next
- Leave HTTPS port as default then click Next.
- Leave it as the default installation folder and then click Next.
- Verify the settings and then click Next.
- Installation will start.
- When you are asked for the license, leave this blank, if you do not enter License Key vSphere will install with 60 days evaluation mode.
- Use MS SQL Express for your vCenter Server database and then click Next.
- Use default System Account for vCenter Server service and then click Next.
- Leave port numbers as default and then click Next.
- Leave JVM memory setting as default (Small) then click Next.
- Click Install to begin vCenter Server installation.
- If you receive prompt for Certificate, click Yes.
- Wait until all vCenter components are installed and started.
- You are now successfully installed vCneter Server.
- Your vCenter Server is ready now. By now you should have everything you need to kick start your vSphere Lab Exercises. In Part – 7 of this instruction, we will verify that all components are working fine.
